Are we really headed for a race war? With the recent burning of notable black churches in the DC area by a right wing militia, The Proud Boys, and the burning of Black Lives Matter flags across the country, are we headed for a race war? It seems like it’s been brewing since the Obama presidency. Can black people put aside our differences, and come together to protect each other if something like this does break out. It’s been a concerted effort to break us up into smaller groups and have us fight for many other causes instead of simply fighting to be black in this country. We now fight for women’s rights, gay rights, christian rights, abortion rights, and animal rights. Have we spread ourselves too thin and made it impossible to put black equality and black justice first? You can be all these things in this country. But ultimately, America sees you as black first, why can’t we?
